More Santa Barbara Results:
Michelle was one of the barn’s big winners! She was competing in the schooling jumpers, the
12-13 year old jumpers and jr/am hunters. Michelle brought great ribbons home, including a Champion in the 12-13 jumper division, a Reserve Champion in the mini prix and several great ribbons in the hunter division (out of 24). Junior is a “Jack of all trades”!
Claire showed her new guy Hayden in the childrens jumpers and training 2 jumpers, and they brought home several ribbons including a 10th in the childrens and adult amatuer jumper classic.
Sarah Jane and Chubby made their debut in walk trot and showed us how to do it, capturing 2 third place ribbons and one 4th in the competitive walk trot division. Sarah Jane was a professional out there... a job well done!
Shelby and Norman, suffered “beginning of the week” trauma. When we unloaded Norman from the trailer, he had his leg stuck in his hay bag. It was very swollen and looked like he had bowed his tendon. He was very lame on it, but the next day the vet took a look at it and said it was fine... just really swollen. Shelby was very apprehensive to show him, but with the vets encouragement, she rode him on Friday in a schooling round.
On Saturday Shelby showed Norman in a jumper class and had a really bad spill in her jump-off. She lost her stirrups in a roll-back, jumped her next jump without stirrups, and fell-off really hard after the jump. She ended up being fine and showed again on Sunday, getting ribbons in her hunter classes.
I’m very proud of you Shelby!
Whitney and Flambeau brought home a Reserve Champion in the low preliminary jumpers division that's level 6 at 4'3. She won the classic at 4'0. Whitney also got many, many great compliments on her wonderful horse-- but we knew he was all that!
Whitney and Charlie Brown were very successful competing in everything under the sun! Their biggest accomplishments were in the amateur jumper division, bringing home a Reserve Champion, and a Reserve Champion in the a/a mini prix.
Congratulations to all!

Hello to all,
We just got into our room ...waiting for everyone to shower, and thought I would send you an update on results while I can remember them. The show was great... long, hot and humid... not much of a break from Vegas with the humidity and all.. The days were super super long.
Show Champions:
Champ: Chubby and Whitney in the schooling pony hunter division
Champ: Michelle and Junior in the 12-13 jumper division
Reserve: Charlie Brown in the amateur rider jumper division
Reserve: Whitney and Flambeau in the low preliminary jumpers
Reserve: Whitney and Charlie Brown in the mini prix for amateur jumper riders
Reserve: Michelle and Junior in the 12- 13 jumper mini prix
Champ: Whitney and Flambeau in the jr/am modified jumper classic
Other highlights were zari winning the hunter under saddle class for the 12-13 hunters-- great ribbons in her over fences classes. Zari even did the jumpers and had 3 double clean rounds! Zari figured out a lot about her mare and they now are on the pathway to a great show career together. I am very proud of you! (continued below...)
Santa Barbara Results continued
Zina showing in 2'3 hunters gave us all great enjoyment watching her. She had super trips and those two are going to be on fire soon, so watch out! She did the hunters and the jumpers bringing home several great ribbons. Zina gets the award for most unbelievable turnaround-- overnight! She went from being a walk/trot rider to a competitive short-stirrup / hopeful jumper rider-- getting strides and learning courses in one minute!
Lexie made her debut in the 3'0 and 3'3 jumper ring. She and Justin got better and better each day. Unfortunately, they were competing against 60 riders in each class, and even double clean rounds were not good enough for ribbons. After successfully competing in the bigger divisions during the weekend, Lexie and Justin got great ribbons in all rounds, showing in the 12-13 jumper rider division. They also placed 5th in the mini prix.
I will update you with the rest of the results soon... Time to eat.
